La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team improved to 16-1 on the season with a pair of wins Saturday.  The Eagles, winners of 15 straight matches, earned a 9-0 victory over Edgewood College (Wis.) in Mitchell Hall Fieldhouse followed by a 9-0 win over the University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Veterans Courts.

UWL is ranked 17th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region.  The Eagles' Bridget Bellissimo, ranked ninth in the ITA Central Region singles, earned a pair of straight set victories at No. 1 singles Saturday.  Bellissimo/Kimmy Mrozek, fourth in the ITA Central Region doubles rankings, went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles.
