Women's Swimming & Diving Team Earns Dual Win Over UW-Eau Claire

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming and diving team earned a 124-117 dual victory over UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon at the Richard L. Pein Natatorium in the Eagles' first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual of the season.
 
UWL's Kayley Alioto won a pair of titles on Saturday, sweeping the diving competitions.  She won the three-meter title with 282.75 points and the one-meter crown with 258.30 points.
 
Caroline Holverson placed second at one meter (215.50 points) and third at three meters (247.55) while Bekka Reineke was second (272.35) at three meters, and fourth at one meter (205.90). 
 
UWL won two other individual titles in the swimming events, as Anna Landgraf won the 100-yard freestyle (55.11) and Katelyn Nadeau captured the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.26). 
 
The Eagles also won the title in the 400-yard freestyle relay.  Victoria Campbell, Katelyn DeStarkey, Jaime Kloehn, and Landgraf won with a time of 3:42.64, while the team of Courtney Boak, Nicole Bogenreif, Bri Larcom, Leslie Scheurer finished second (3:47.56). 
 
In the 200-yard medley relay Maddie Volk, Maria Vandreuil, Samantha Seymour, and Campbell placed second (1:51.49) with Mckenzie Vermeire, Cassie Stoick, Nadeau, and Melissa Klaeser third (1:55.95)
 
Vermeire also placed second individually in the 200-yard backstroke (2:16.92) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:19.74) while DeStarkey was second in the 100 freestyle (55.14) and 50 free (25.08).
 
The Eagles' Larcom earned a second in the 200-yard freestyle and fourth place in the 100 free (55.91) while Vandreuil was second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.59). 
 
Landgraf was second in the 200-yard IM (2:18.35) while Nadeau was third in the 200 free (2:02.91) and Campbell third in the 50 free (25.52). 
 
Seymour was third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.56) and fourth in the 50 free (25.67) while Volk was third in the 200 IM (2:18.77) and fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:19.74).
 
In the 1000-yard freestyle, Stephanie Deis was third (11:35.53), with Boak fourth (11:37.91), and Bogenreif fifth (11:47.13).  Bogenreif was fourth (5:40.71) and Ellen Costic fifth (5:41.31) in the 500 freestyle, with Stoick fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:45.94).    
 
UWL returns to action Saturday, November 19 at Luther College (Iowa) starting at 1 p.m.
