Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming and diving team earned a 151-92 victory over UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon in the UW-Stevens Point Aquatics Center. The Eagles move to 3-2 overall in dual meets and 2-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
UWL won multiple individual events on Saturday, led by
Anna Landgraf, who captured the 100 freestyle (54.60) and 200 IM (2:15.96). She was also a part of the winning 400 medley relay team with
Emma Holbrook,
Cassie Stoick, and
Mikayla Beuch (4:06.78).
Sara Zemanovic won the 200 freestyle (1:59.79) and was second in the 500 free (5:26.72) while Beuch captured the 50 free (25.06) and
Samantha Seymour took the crown in the 200 butterfly (2:33.42). Holbrook won the 200 backstroke (2:08.11) and was second in the 200 IM (2:19.72).
UWL also recorded second place finishes by
Nicole Bogenreif in the 1000 free (11:39.42),
Carrie Schrock in the 50 freestyle (25.21) and 100 free (55.49),
Stephanie Deis in the 200 butterfly (2:25.80), and
McKenzie Vermeire in the 200 backstroke (2:14.88).
Beuch, Schrock,
Katelyn DeStarkey, and Zemanovic also placed second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:37.65).
The Eagles swept the top three places in the three meter diving event, with
Bekka Reineke winning the title (282.35 points). She placed second at one meter (265.80 points).
Jordan Anderson was second at three meters (278.90) and fourth at one meter (256.70).
Kayley Alioto was third in both events (267.85 points at three meters and 263.80 points at one meter).
The Eagles return to action Saturday, February 6 at UW-Whitewater at 1 p.m.
