Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming and diving team fell 152-91 at UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon in the UW-Stevens Point Aquatics Center. The Eagles are 3-2 overall in dual meets this season, including 2-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
UWL captured titles in three individual swimming events on Saturday, and also won the 400 medley relay with the team of
Hunter Burchfield,
Jacob Burchfield,
Charleton Skinner, and
Ryan Jessen (3:33.10).
Skinner was the champion in the 200 IM (2:00.52) and 200 butterfly (2:00.65) while
Hunter Burchfield won the 200 backstroke (2:02.15). Burchfield was also fourth in the 50 freestyle (21.94).
The Eagles earned second place in the 400 freestyle relay from
Jacob Burchfield,
Jackson Uselman,
Nicholas Brehmer, and Jessen (3:12.10). Brehmer was also second in the 200 free (1:47.27).
Other top finishes on Saturday included third in the 200 free from Uselman (1:48.01), Jessen in the 50 free (21.91), and Brehmer in the 100 free (48.93).
Tanner Folvag earned top honors in the three meter diving competition with 284.30 points. He was also third at one meter (270.35 points).
Kyle Wolmutt was fourth in both events (234.50 points at one meter, 229.70 points at three meters) while
Elijah Heggerness was fifth (216.30 points at one meter, 203.30 at three meters).
The Eagles return to action Saturday, February 6 at UW-Whitewater at 1 p.m.
