UW-La Crosse 208, UW-Oshkosh 32
Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 208-32 victory at UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon. The Eagles captured individual titles in 10 events and swept both relays.
UWL's
Mikayla Beuch and
Anna Landgraf led the way with two titles each, with Beuch winning the 200 freestyle (2:00.58) and tying for first with teammate
Malena Waters in the 50 freestyle (25.75). Landgraf took the 200 I.M. (2:18.59) and 100 freestyle (55.21) titles. Both had a hand in UWL's relay wins as well. Beuch teamed with
Carrie Schrock,
Katelyn DeStarkey, and
Sara Zemanovic to capture the 400 freestyle relay (3:45.86) while Landgraf,
Emma Holbrook,
Cassie Stoick, and Zemanovic won the 400 medley relay (4:08.91).
McKenzie Vermeire won the 1,650 freestyle (19.32.91) with
Stephanie Deis second (19.36) while
Courtney Boak finished first in the 500 freestyle (5:33.80) with
Nicole Bogenreif second (5:41.85) and
Maggie Gorman fourth (5:49.73).
UWL took the top-four spots in both the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. In the butterfly,
Samantha Seymour took the crown (1:02.46), followed by
Melissa Klaeser (1:03.73),
Krystal Hagen (1:06.16), and
Abby Kumm (1:07.16). Holbrook captured the backstroke (1:00.61), with
Maddie Volk second (1:02.60),
Danika Johnson third (1:04.40), and Vermeire fourth (1:04.53).
Diving titles at both one-meter (252.95 points) and three-meters (257.80) went to UWL's
Kayley Alioto.
Jordan Anderson was second in both events (252.90 at one-meter; 250.75 at three-meters), with
Christina Reif third (234.55) at one-meter and
Bekka Reineke third (249.95) at three-meter and fourth (232.05) at one-meter.
Other top finishes from UWL Saturday included secon- place finishes from
Bri Larcom in the 200 freestyle (2:05.52), Volk in the 200 I.M. (2:19.64), and
Leslie Scheurer in the 100 freestyle (57.57). Schrock was third in the 50 freestyle (26.35), 100 freestyle (57.75), and 100 breaststroke (1:13.06). UWL also earned third's from DeStarkey in the 200 freestyle (2:05.78) and Holbrook in the 200 I.M. (2:20.48). Zemanovic was fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.72) while
Kelsey Deinhammer also placed fourth in the 100 freestyle (57.81).
UWL returns to action Saturday, January 30 at UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m.
