St. Cloud State University (Minn.) 157, UW-La Crosse 80La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team fell 157-80 to NCAA Division II St. Cloud State University Friday night in Mitchell Hall's Richard L. Pein Natatorium. The Eagles had two individual first-place finishes Friday and one relay title. UWL's
Nicholas Brehmer captured the 500 freestyle (5:03.69) while
Tanner Folvag won the three-meter diving competition (254.70 points). The Eagles won the 200 freestyle relay (1:27.45) with
Jacob Burchfield,
Hunter Burchfield, Brehmer and
Ryan Jessen.
Hunter Burchfield,
Jacob Burchfield,
Charleton Skinner and Jessen placed second (1:37.84) in the 200 medley relay.
Along with winning the 500 freestyle, Brehmer was third (1:47.74) in the 200 freestyle while
Jacob Burchfield was second (1:47.21).
Skinner recorded a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 I.M. (2:01.14) and 200 butterfly (2:01.29).
Quinton Maydaniuk finished second (2:23.76) and Jake Kisiolek third (2:29.68) in the 200 breaststroke.
Other third-place finishes inclued
Erik Wickstrom in the 200 I.M. (2:04.23), Jessen in the 50 freestyle (21.93), Tony Douglas in the 100 freestyle (49.77) and
Ryan Neigbauer in the 1,000 freestyle (11:07.75).
Folvag was also second (263.30 points) in the one-meter diving competition while
Elijah Heggerness was third (201.00) in the three-meter.
UWL returns to action Saturday, January 16 at the Luther College (Iowa) Invitational at 10 a.m.
