"We came out ready to play today," said UWL head coach
Jason Murphy. "We had the wind in the first half to our back and we were able to take advantage of it. We were able to get to the end line and serve balls across and really work up the middle with some small combinations and create some good scoring chances."
Twenty-two players saw action in Wedneday's match. "We're a pretty deep team," said Murphy. "We came out and scored two early goals today and got one right before halftime. Then
we came out in the second half and right away were dangerous again and pushing it to them into the wind. It was nice to see our team play from in front."
UW-L returns to action Friday, September 18 at North Central College (Ill.) at 6 p.m. "We play three games in five days against CCIW (College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) opponents," added Murphy. "It's nice to get the first one, but we have to be ready to turn around and play at North Central."
After playing at North Central (Ill.), UWL travels to Elmhurst College (Ill.) Sunday, September 20 at non. "We're excited about traveling down to Chicago and spending some time in the city," said Murphy. "It will be a tough weekend for us, but we'll get organzied and be ready to play."
