Box Score Platteville, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse football team fell 52-7 at 14th-ranked UW-Platteville Saturday afternoon at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.  The Eagles finish 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Pioneers improve to 8-2 overall and 5-2 in the WIAC.  UW-Platteville, ranked 14th on this week's D3football.com Top-25 Poll, earned its seventh straight win over UWL.

UWL took the opening kickoff and drove to UW-Platteville's 17-yard line, but Tyler Jenkins was stopped for no gain on fourth-and-one.  UW-Platteville drove to UWL's 31-yard line on its first drive of the game, but Kyle Whitman lost one yard and fourth-and-two.  The game was scoreless after the first quarter.

The Pioneers took a 3-0 lead with 12:54 left in the second quarter on a Michael Pratl 22-yard field goal. 

After UWL was forced to punt, UW-Platteville took a 10-0 lead on Tom Kelly's nine-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Sheehan with 5:24 remaining in the second quarter.  Kelly thriew a 15-yard touchdown pass to Quinn Buschbacher with :52 left to make it 17-0.  The Eagles' Drew David was intercepted by the Pioneers' Andrew Belken with :11 remaining in the half and Kelly connected with Dan Arnold on a 45-yard touchdown pass on the final play from scrimmage.  UW-Platteville led 24-0 at halftime.

Whitman scored on a one-yard run with 11:36 left in the third quarter to take a 31-0 lead and Kelly threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game with 7:06 remaining in the quarter on a 49-yard pass to Sheehan for a 38-0 advantage.

UWL got on the scoreboard on its next drive of the game as David threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Joel Oxton.  Matt Van Druten's extra-point made it 38-7.

The teams traded fumbles early in the fourth quarter before UW-Platteville's Ryan Fish scored on a four-yard run to lead 45-7 with 13:25 left.  Devon Vance finished the scoring on a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown with 13:10 remaining.

UWL finished with 216 yards of offense, including 86 rushing and 130 passing.  The Eagles had 15 first downs while going five-of-13 on third-down.  Austin Mancosky led UWL with 70 yards rushing on 16 attempts while Jenkins had 20 yards on 15 carries.  David finished 12-of-22 for 125 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.  He was sacked three times.  A.J. Day (35 yards) and Oxton (24 yards) each had three catches with Oxton finishing with one touchdown. 

UW-Platteville totaled 568 yards of offense, including 284 rushing and 284 passing.  The Pioneers had 31 first downs and were nine-of-12 on third-down.  UW-Platteville won the time of possession, 32:44 to 27:16.  Fish finished with 111 yards rushing on 16 carries and a touchdown while Whitman totaled 93 yards on 21 attempts and a touchdown.  Kelly went 22-of-25 for 284 yards with four touchdowns.  Russel Martin caught eight passes for 89 yards.

Jon Becker led UWL with 19 tackles, including 11 unassisted.  Noah Risch totaled 12 tackles.  Trent Napp had one fumble recovery.

Marty Mcgrail led UW-Platteville with nine tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. Andrew Robinson had 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 quarterback sack.
