UW-L Women's Swimming & Diving Falls at St. Cloud State

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team fell 157-136 to NCAA Division II St. Cloud State University (Minn.) Friday afternoon in the Halenbeck Hall Aquatic Center. The Eagles are now 2-1 on the season.

UW-L's Mikayla Beuch won a pair of individual titles Friday.  She finished first in the 50 freestyle (24.68) and also won the 100 freestyle (54.24). 

Beuch was also a part of UW-L's first-place 200 freestyle relay along with Carrie Schrock, Brooke Reynolds, and Kelsey Deinhammer (1:40.35).

The Eagles captured individual titles in four other events.  Reynolds won the 100 backstroke (59.82), Robin Hartung was first in the 50 butterfly (29.12), and Leanna Schwartzlow took the top spot in the 200 individual medley (2:19.30).  In the three-meter diving competition, Kayley Alioto won the event (258.30 points). 
Reynolds was also second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.36) while Schwartzlow took third in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.11).     

Other top finishers for UW-L included Sara Zemanovic placing second in the 100 freestyle (55.03) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:58.85).  Krystal Hagen was second in the 50 butterfly (29.19) with Kaley Brown finishing third (29.34).  

The Eagles' Nicole Bogenreif swam to a second-place finish in the 1000 freestyle (11:21.08) and Stephanie Deis was second in the 200 individual medley (2:22.87).   

McKenzie Vermeire was third in the 200 IM (2:24.83) and the 500 freestyle (5:33.30).  

UW-L also had third place teams in both relays.  In the 400 medley, Sophie Runing, Schwartzlow, Katelyn DeStarkey, and Schrock finished with a time of 4:12.62.  Destarkey, Landgraf, Zemonovic, and Danika Johnson swam the 200 freestyle in 1:41.68.     

In diving, Jordan Anderson finished second in the one-meter (222.55 points) and three-meter competitions (252.00 points).  Jessie Metz was third at one-meter (219.65).  

UW-L returns to action on Saturday, January 31 hosting UW-Oshkosh and UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m.
