Box Score La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team fell 1-0 to 22nd-ranked Luther College (Iowa) Wednesday night at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.  The Eagles drop to 2-2-2 on the season while the Norse improve to 7-0.  Luther is ranked 22nd on this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top-25 Poll.

Elly Arend scored the only goal of the match for Luther at 88:26 assisted by Melisse Chasse.  It was Arend's first goal of the season.

UW-L finished with eight shots Wednesday night with one on goal from Rachel Rogahn.  Kelly Denk totaled three shots while Kirsten Anderson had two. 

The Eagles' Ashley Tracy recorded five saves. 

Luther totaled 14 shots, including six on goal. The Norse' Lauren Thormodsgard and Molly Hilgart combined on the shutout.  Thormodsgard recorded one save.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 20 opening Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play at UW-River Falls at 4 p.m.
