UW-La Crosse 126, UW-Whitewater 103
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 126-103 dual victory over UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon in Mitchell Hall in the Eagles' final regular-season home meet.
UW-L swept both relay events Saturday, including the 200 medley relay as
Brooke Reynolds,
Leanna Schwartzlow,
Allie Yemm and
Mikayla Beuch set a Mitchell Hall pool record with a winning time of 1:47.50. The relay broke the time of UW-L's Chelsea Hoff, Brianna Peyer,
Taylor Smith and Katelyn Hartung of 1:48.15 set in 2010.
The Eagles' also won the 200 freestyle relay Saturday (1:39.15) with
Erica O'Neill,
Carrie Schrock,
Elise O'Neill and Beuch.
UW-L had eight individual wins Saturday, including
Tessa Kahring who captured the three-meter diving title (248.45 points). She was also second in the one-meter (235.50) competition.
Beuch, Yemm, Smith, Reynolds,
Emma Holbrook,
Brooke Soller and
Sara Zemanovic won swimming events. Beuch took the 50 freestyle (24.45) while Yemm captured the 200 I.M. (2:13.17), Smith the 100 butterfly (1:00.44) and Reynolds the 100 freestyle (54.13).
Holbrook won the 100 backstroke (59.62), Soller the 1,000 freestyle (10:57.92) and Zemanovic the 200 freestyle (1:57.91). Zemanovic was also second in the 500 freestyle (5:24.60).
Other top finishes in diving Saturday included
Christina Reif placing third in the one (224.80 points) and three (242.75) diving while
Jordan Anderson finished fourth in the one (220.15) and three (232.20) meter.
In swimming,
Kelsey Deinhammer finished second (25.29) and
Shannon Miller third (25.51) in the 50 freestyle.
UW-L returns to action Thursday, February 20 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
