Gymnastics Team Wins Regular Season Finale

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics squad earned a 186.775 to 181.200 dual victory over UW-Eau Claire Friday night in Mitchell Hall in the Eagles' regular-season finale.  The Eagles scored 46.275 on the vault; 46.800 on the uneven parallel bars; 46.875 on the balance beam and 46.825 on the floor exercise. 

UW-L's Kari Willett won the all-around title (37.375) Friday.  She tied for first on the vault (9.300) with teammate Ali Berry and Nicole Wangler also also tying for first on the balance beam (9.625) with teammate Morgan Shene

Willett was also fourth on the uneven parallel bar (9.325). 

Along with tying for first on the vault, Berry captured the floor exercise (9.550) Friday night while finishing sixth on the balance beam (9.150). 

Carly Kiesow captured the uneven parallel bars (9.425) for UW-L Friday while tying for fourth on the floor exercise (9.350). 

Other top finishes Friday for the Eagles included Wangler placing second (9.400), Shene third (9.375) and Rachel Riesterer fifth (9.275) on the uneven parallel bars. 

Kelsi Vomacka was second on the floor exercise (9.450) while Sheree Romesburg finished third on the balance beam (9.475) and tied for fourth on the floor exercise (9.350).  Mickelson placed fourth on the vault (9.225). 

UW-L returns to action Sunday, March 2 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional.  Action begins at 2 p.m. at UW-Whitewater.
