UW-La Crosse 145, UW-Eau Claire 98La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming and diving team earned a 145-98 dual victory over UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon at the Richard L. Pein Natatorium in the Eagles' first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual of the season.
UW-L's
Brooke Reynolds won a pair of events Saturday, capturing the 100 backstroke (58.87) and 200 individual medley (2:14.97).
The Eagles'
Sara Zemanovic,
Andrea Kolitsch,
Carrie Schrock, and
Leanna Schwartzlow each won one event. Zemanovic captured the 200 freestyle (1:59.22), Kolitsch the 100 butterfly (59.72), Schrock the 100 freestyle (55.42) and Schwartzlow the 100 breaststroke (1:10.14).
UW-L swept both relays Saturday as Reynolds, Schwartzlow, Kolitsch, and
Mikayla Beuch won the 200 medley relay (1:50.50) while Beuch,
Anna Landgraf, Schrock, and Zemanovic captured the 400 freestyle relay (3:43.53).
Other top individual finishes for the Eagles included
Anna Landgraf placing second (2:01.65) in the 200 freestyle and second through fourth-place finishes from Beuch (25.26), Schrock (25.39), and
Danika Johnson (26.11) in the 50 freestyle.Â
Nicole Bogenreif was third (11:18.77) and
Courtney Boak fourth (11:36.40) in the 1,000 freestyle while Schwartzlow (2:18.77) and
Rachel Medenwaldt (2:19.03) finished second and third in the 200 individual medley.Â
Katelyn Nadeau was third (1:01.79) in the 100 butterfly while Landgraf was second (55.76) in the 100 freestyle.Â
Zemanovic was the highest finisher for the Eagles in the 500 freestyle, placing second (5:20.50) while
Nicole Bogenreif was third (5:26.65).Â
Lauren Bradley took second (1:11.41) in the 100 breaststroke with Mededenwaldt finishing third (1:12.80).
Kayley Alioto finished second (231.40 points) and
Jordan Anderson third (228.45 points) to lead the Eagles in the one-meter diving competition.Â
Christina Reif was the top finisher in the three-meter competition in fourth-place (234.65 points).
UW-L returns to action Saturday, November 22 at Luther College (Iowa) starting at 1 p.m.
