UW-La Crosse 131, Luther College (Iowa) 112Decorah, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming and diving team earned a 131-112 dual victory at Luther College (Iowa) Saturday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 2-0 in duals with the win.
The Eagles'
Mikayla Beuch,
Carrie Schrock,
Leanna Schwartzlow and
Jordan Anderson each won an event. Beuch captured the 50 freestyle (24.85), Schrock the 100 freestyle (55.43), and Schwartzlow the 100 breaststroke (1:10.57).
Anderson led the diving team with a first-place finish in the three-meter competition (247.65 points). She also placed second (231.30 points) in the one-meter event.
UWL swept both relays Saturday as
Brooke Reynolds, Schwartzlow, Katie Nadeau, and Beuch won the 400 medley relay (4:05.29) while Beuch, Schrock,
Anna Landgraf, and
Sara Zemanovic set a Luther (Iowa) pool record with their victory in the 400 freestyle relay (3:41.75).
Other top individual finishes for the Eagles included Landgraf placing second (2:01.01) in the 200 freestyle and third (1:03.55) in the 100 butterfly.
Reynolds was second (59.20) in the 100 backstroke and third (25.67) in the 50 freestyle while Katie Nadeau swam to a second-place in the 100 butterfly (1:01.55) and third in the 200 freestyle (2:03.29).
Zemanovic was second (4:52.17) in the 400 individual medley while Schartzlow finished third (4:55.75). In the 100 freestyle,
Katelyn DeStarkey finished second (56.18) and
Kelsey Deinhammer third (57.75).
Nicole Bogenreif was third in the 500 freestyle (5:29.08).
Kayley Alioto finished second (235.10 points) in the three-meter diving competition while placing third in the one-meter (230.45).
UW-L returns to action Friday, December 5 at the Rochester (Minn.) Invitational.
