Soccer Falls to Gustavus Adolphus in Non-Conference Action

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team fell 1-0 to Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) Saturday afternoon at Veterans Field.  The Eagles drop to 1-2 on the season while the Gusties improve to 2-1.

Maddison Ackiss scored the only goal of the match at 19:04 with an assist from Amanda Cartony. It was the second goal of the season for Ackiss.

Gustavus Adolphus earned its first ever win over UW-L. The Eagles now lead the all-time series, 4-1.

In a match with the heat index near 100 degrees, UW-L finished with 22 shots, including seven on goal. Megan Gresl (three shots) and Jamie Ochsenwald (six shots) each had two shots on goal for the Eagles while Sarah Jacobs, Laura Sauer and Kirsten Anderson finished with one.

Gustavus Adolphus recorded 14 shots with seven on goal.

The Eagles' Ashley Tracy recorded six saves while the Gusties' Caroline Olson earned the shutout win with seven saves.

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, September 11 at Wartburg College (Iowa) at 5 p.m.
