La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team fell 8-1 to UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon at Veterans Courts. The Eagles, playing their home opener, drop to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Warhawks improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

At No. 4 singles, UW-Whitewater's Williams beat Blanton (2-6, 6-1, 10-4) while Hillary Franzen defeated
Kendra Woyahn at No. 5 (7-6, 6-4) and Abby Day defeated
Jennifer Graham at No. 6 (6-4, 6-4).
UW-L returns to action Friday, September 20 at the ITA Midwest Regional in St. Peter, Minnesota.
