Beloit, Wis./Rockford, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team opened its 2013 season with a 9-0 victory over Beloit College (Wis.) Friday night at the Strong Complex/Boylan Tennis Center.  It was also the Buccaneers' season opener.

The Eagles won five of the six singles matches in straight sets Friday. Olivia Hartwick defeated Courtney Yates at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-2); Bryanne Blanton beat Alex Hinck at No. 3 (6-1, 6-1) and Kimmy Mrozek defeated Maria Mears at No. 4 (6-0, 6-1).

UW-L's Jennifer Graham defeated Paola Schnabel at No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-0) while Rachael Wabers beat Alexandra Kurpiel at No. 6 (6-0, 6-0).

Abby Tresedder earned the victory at No. 1 singles (6-2, 2-6, 10-8) over Trina Capelli.

In doubles, Tresedder/Hartwick beat Capelli/Yates at No. 1 (8-2); Blanton/Mrozek defeated Hinck/Mears at No. 2 (8-0) and Wabers/Samantha Fleming beat Kurpiel/Samantha Kinard at No. 3 (8-1).

UW-L returns to action Saturday, August 31 at the UW-Whitewater Invitational.
