Soccer Team Earns Second Straight Shutout

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team earned its second straight shutout victory Saturday with a 3-0 win over UW-Superior at Veterans Field.  The Eagles improve to 5-6-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the WIAC while the Yellowjackets drop to 3-11 overall and 0-7 in the conference. UW-L is now 20-0 all-time versus UW-Superior. 

Megan Gresl gave UW-L a 1-0 lead Saturday scoring unassisted at 13:20.  It is her firs goal of the season. Kelly Denk then made it 2-0 at halftime, scoring at 42:32 assisted by Kali Schultz

Denk tallied her second goal of the match and third of the season at 51:55 for a 3-0 lead. Saskia Taylor and Taylor Baker recorded assists. 

UW-L finished with 31 shots in the match, including 12 on goal.  UW-Superior tallied three shots, two on goal.

The Eagles' Sagan Pizzingrilli recorded her third shutout of the season and 13th in her career with two saves. 

UW-Superior's Kalea Hatlewick had nine saves. 

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, October 17 at UW-Stevens Point at 4 p.m.
