Superior, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer squad earned a 2-0 victory at UW-Superior Saturday night to extend the Eagles' all-time record to 19-0 against the Yellowjackets. UW-L improves to 7-4-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the WIAC while UW-Superior falls to 6-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Saskia Taylor scored both of Saturday's goals. She gave UW-L a 1-0 lead on a corner kick at 29:27 and made it 2-0 at 77:42 with an assist from
Jamie Wiepz.
Taylor finished with three shots on goal in the match. The Eagles totaled 25 shots overall, including 17 on goal.
Taylor Baker had 10 shots with seven on goal while
Courtney Weber finished with five shots, four on goal.
UW-L's
Sagan Pizzingrilli earned the shutout, recording three saves. The Eagles have five shutout victories on the season. The team also had a 0-0.
UW-Superior finished with six shots, including three on goal. The Yellowjackets' Alexandra Paige made 15 saves.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, October 12 at UW-Platteville starting at 7 p.m.
