Lily Hallock

Lily Hallock begins her fifth season as UW-La Crosse's head volleyball coach in 2016.  She is also an instructor in the university's Exercise Sport Science Department.  

Hallock led the Eagles to their 10th Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular-season title in school history in 2015 and first since 2003 with a 6-1 league mark.  UWL finished 20-10 overall in 2015, earning a bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championship.  The Eagles, one of 20 at-large selections to the 2015 national championships, made their 13th appearance in the NCAA III Championship and first since 2008. 

For her efforts, Hallock was named the 2015 WIAC Coach of the Year. 

UWL has had 12 all-conference selections in Hallock's first four seasons as head coach, including Jill Entinger who was named the 2015 WIAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year. 

"I am honored to be a part of the UWL Athletics Department and to work with a dedicated group of student-athletes," says Hallock.  "Eagle athletics has a proud tradition of excellence; it is an exciting place to come to work everyday."

Hallock served as a graduate assistant volleyball coach at Smith College (Mass.) prior to coming to UWL.  She was the Pioneers' interim head volleyball coach from January to June 2011.  Along with her coaching duties at Smith (Mass.), Hallock was a teaching fellow in the exercise and sports studies program.  She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon in 2006 in human physiology and her master's degree from Smith (Mass.) in 2013 in exercise and sports studies.

"The UWL volleyball team is made up of a dedicated group of athletes who are striving for something more," said Hallock.  "I will work tirelessly to guide each individual to reach her own potential."       
 
Prior to arriving at Smith (Mass.), Hallock was the assistant volleyball coach and assistant director of the fitness center at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2007-10.  She served as the assistant volleyball varsity coach at South Eugene (Oregon) High School from 2004-06.
 
As a player, Hallock was a four-year starting setter at UC Santa Cruz from 1999-2003, earning first team all-conference honors her senior season. She was a three-year team captain and two-year team MVP for the Banana Slugs.  Hallock also played basketball at UC Santa Cruz.
