Matthai placed third (13:56.79) in the 5,000-meter run at the Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) Distance Carnival on March 27. He broke Ethan Gregg's school record of 13:58.36 set in 2023. Matthai's time ranks 12th in NCAA III history.
