Brossard went 5-0 on the week, improving to 9-2 on the season. He opened with a major decision (13-1) over Tommy Hoy of UW-Whitewater January 13. Brossard, ranked fifth in the NWCA, then captured the title at the Cornell College (Iowa) Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational January 15. He went 4-0 in the tournament, three wins by fall. He opened with a fall (1:29) over Brennan Graber of Luther College (Iowa) before a technical fall (16-0) over Drew Venteicher of Loras College (Iowa) in the quarterfinals. Brossard won by fall (2:07) over Preston Schuelke of Luther (Iowa) in the semifinals and captured the title with a fall (1:53) over 13th-ranked Casey Allen of Cornell (Iowa).
