Schommer competed in six meets in 2019, finishing sixth at the WIAC Championships to earn all-league first team honors. He earned All-NCAA Division III Midwest Region accolades with a 22nd-place finish. Schommer was 75th at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships. He also placed sixth at the Carleton College (Minn.) Invitational last season and 19th at the Jim Drews Invitational. 

He competed in four meets in 2017 and 2018, finishing 28th at the 2018 WIAC Championships. Schommer was ninth in 2017 at the Luther College (Iowa) Dual.
