Zach Cook is in his second season as an assistant wrestling coach at UW-La Crosse in 2025-26 after working at North Central College (Ill.) from 2019-24. He also serves as an assistant Mitchell Hall manager at UWL.
UWL placed fifth at the 2025 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships after capturing the NCAA Division III Region VII Regional title. The Eagles also won the 2025 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships. UWL finished 11-2 overall in duals, including 5-0 in the conference.Â
Cook came to UWL after serving as North Central's (Ill.) head men's wrestling coach and associate women's wrestling coach from 2022-24. He led the men's program to a fourth-place finish at the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships and eighth-place showing in 2024. He coached six NCAA Division III All-Americas in his last two seasons, including one national champion. Named the 2023 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Division III Rookie Coach of the Year, Cook also earned the 2023 NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional Coach of the Year honors.Â
He coached 29 women's National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships (NCWWC) All-Americas in 2022-23 and 2023-24, including four national champions. North Central (Ill.) won the national title in 2023 and placed second in 2024.Â
Cook was North Central's (lll.) associate head men's and women's coach in 2021-22 and assistant coach from 2019-21.Â
Cook earned his bachelor's degree in finance from UWL in 2014 and his master's degree in sport management: administration from Lynchburg University (Va.) in 2015.Â
He was UWL's assistant wrestling coach from 2014-19. Zook also worked as an events coordinator/assistant camps & clinics director at UWL in 2016 and was an associate lecturer in exercise sport science in 2017-18.Â
