Sam Korn starts her fourth season UW-La Crosse's head softball coach in 2026-27.
AT UW-LA CROSSE:
* Overall record of 69-55, including 23-19 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
* Twelve players have earned All-WIAC honors, including eight first team selections.
* Three National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region choices.
* Two WIAC Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete and one WIAC Position Player of the Year selections.
2026:
* UWL finished 23-17 overall and 7-7 in the WIAC, dropping its first game in the league tournament. The Eagles tied for fifth in the conference standings.
* Carmen Follette and Amber Gonzalez were named to the All-WIAC First Team while Brooke Howard and Marissa Pease earned honorable mention awards.
* Lindsay Steien was selected to the NFCA All-Region VIII Third Team.
2025:
* UWL finished 22-19 overall and 7-7 in the WIAC, dropping its first game in the league tournament. The Eagles tied for third in the conference standings.
* Kyra Lard and Howard were named to the All-WIAC First Team. Brynne Bieri was selected to the All-WIAC Honorable Mention Team. Lard was also selected the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete.
2024:
* UWL finished 24-19 overall and 9-5 in the WIAC in Korn's first season, going 1-1 in the league tournament. The Eagles tied for third in the conference standings.
* Five players were named to the All-WIAC Team, including Jordyn McCormack, Elise Weinzierl, Lard and Howard to the first team. Remington Stark earned All-WIAC Honorable Mention accolades. Lard was selected the 2024 WIAC Position Player of the Year while McCormack was named the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete.
* Lard and Howard were selected to the 2024 NFCA All-Region Second Team.
OTHER COACHING EXPERIENCE:
* Rockford University (Ill.) head coach in 2023, finishing 14-26.
* Bridgewater College (Va.) head defensive coach and assistant offensive coach at Bridgewater College (Va.) in 2022.
* University of Pikeville (Ky.) graduate assistant softball coach in 2021.
EDUCATION AND PLAYING CAREER:
* Earned bachelor's degree in integrated studies from Alverno College (Wis.) in 2020 and Master's of Business Administration from Pikeville (Ky.) in 2022.
* A three-sport athlete at Alverno (Wis.), Korn earned four letters for the softball program while also competing in volleyball and golf. She was a member of the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) all four years, serving as President from 2016-19.
* Four-sport athlete at Westby (Wis.) High School, competing in volleyball, basketball, softball and power lifting. She coached with the Westby Softball Recreation Program from 2012-18.
