Kenny Desrosiers starts his seventh season as an assistant coach at UW-La Crosse in 2026-27. He also serves as the athletics equity liaison for intercollegiate athletics.
AT UW-LA CROSSE:
* Overall record of 111-42, including 53-23 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
* Three National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Tournament Appearances, advanced to Elite 8 in 2024-25 and Sweet 16 in 2025-26. National record of 6-3.
* Six WIAC Tournament berths, winning one championship and placing second twice.
* Twenty All-WIAC honors, including 13 first team and seven honorable mention selections. Six All-WIAC Defensive selections, two WIAC Player of the Year and one Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete.
* Three All-America and 13 all-region selections.
2025-26:
* UWL finished 24-7 overall and 9-5 in the WIAC, tied for second in league standings. The 24 wins are second-most in school history.
* The Eagles won their first WIAC Tournament title with a victory (81-78) at UW-Whitewater. UWL earned a first round win (87-83) over UW-Stout and semifinal win (82-63) at UW-Stevens Point.
* Advanced to 2026 NCAA Division III Sweet 16, earning a pair of wins in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles earned a 75-61 victory over Hope College (Mich.) in the first round and a 79-62 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calif.) in the second round. UWL fell, 83-78, at eventual national champion the University of Mary Washington (Va.) in the Sweet 16.
* Ranked 11th in the final 2025-26 D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.
* Dustin Derousseau, Sam Grieger and JJ Paider named to All-WIAC First Team for the second straight season. Derousseau voted to the All-WIAC Defensive Team for the second consecutive year and earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D3hoops.com District 9 Second Team honors.
* Grieger voted the WIAC Player of the Year and earned a pair of All-America selections. He was named to the NABC All-America First Team and selected the NABC Division III Player of the Year while also garnering D3hoops.com All-America Second Team accolades. Grieger was NABC and D3hoops.com All-District Player of the Year choices.
* Grieger named finalist for the Jostens Award, presented to the top player in NCAA Division III, and on the Bevo Francis Award Top 25 Watch List.
* Paider was a D3hoops.com All-District Second Team choice.
2024-25:
* UWL finished 25-6 overall and 12-2 in the WIAC, placing second in the league standings. The 25 overall victories set a school record and the 12 league wins were most since finishing 12-4 in 2006-07.
* Advanced to the WIAC Tournament Championship game for the third time in school history, earning a semifinal win (69-55) over UW-Eau Claire before losing (89-68) at UW-Platteville in the championship game.
* Earned an at-large bid to NCAA Division III Championships, advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time in school history. The Eagles opened the national tournament with a 120-93 victory over Greenville University (Ill.), earning their first NCAA Division III victory since 2022. UWL followed with a 77-67 win over St. Norbert College (Wis.) in the second round to advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament Sweet 16 for the first time in school history. The opening two games were held at The La Crosse Center. The Eagles earned a 72-65 home victory over ninth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University in Mitchell Hall in the NCAA III Sweet 16 before falling 80-66 to 17th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) in the NCAA Division III Elite Eight.
* Sixth in the final D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll, its highest ranking in the final poll of the season.
* Derousseau, Grieger and Paider named to the All-WIAC First Team while Will Fuhrmann and Karter Thomas earned all-conference honorable mention awards. It marked the first time in single-season school history UWL had three players voted to the All-WIAC First Team.
* Derousseau selected to the All-WIAC Defensive Team and to the D3hoops.com All-Region 9 Third Team while Grieger was voted to the D3hoops.com All-Region 9 Second Team and to the NABC All-District 9 First Team.
2023-24:
* UWL finished 14-12 overall and 8-6 in the WIAC, earning a league tournament appearance. The Eagles tied for second in the WIAC standings.
* Appeared in WIAC Tournament, losing (93-91) at home to UW-Stout in the first round.
* Paider named to All-WIAC First Team while Fuhrmann and Derousseau earned honorable mention accolades. Jake Gross selected to All-WIAC Defensive Team.
2022-23:
* UWL finished 19-7 overall and 10-4 in the WIAC, placing second in the conference standings.
* Appeared in WIAC Tournament semifinals, falling (72-68) at home to UW-Whitewater.
* Ethan Anderson and Austin Westra named to All-WIAC First Team with Craig Steele earning honorable mention and Fuhrmann all-defensive. Anderson was named the WIAC Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete.
* Anderson earned D3hoops.com All-Region First Team and NABC All-Region Second Team honors.
2021-22:
* UWL finished 21-7 overall and 9-5 in the WIAC, placing third in the conference standings. The 21 wins tied the then single-season school record.
* UWL made its third appearance in the NCAA Division III Championships, earning its first victory with a win over Heidelberg University (Ohio) in the first round before a second round loss (65-56) at Illinois Wesleyan.
* Advanced to the WIAC Tournament semifinals, earning a second round home win (74-70) over UW-Stevens Point before losing (74-51) at UW-Platteville in the semifinals.
* Ranked 19th in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll.
* Ethan Anderson and Wyatt Cook earned All-WIAC First Team honors with Seth Anderson being named honorable mention and Sean Suchomel to the all-defensive team.
* Ethan Anderson named to D3hoops.com and NABC All-Region First Team.
2020-21:
* UWL finished 8-3 overall and placed first in the WIAC West Division with a 5-1 record.
* Advanced to the conference tournament championship game for the second time in school history. The Eagles earned a home win (76-68) over UW-Stevens Point in the first round and a home victory (75-72) over UW-Oshkosh in the semifinals before losing (74-47) at home to UW-Platteville in the championship.
* Ranked 13th in D3hoops.com Top-15 Poll, its then highest ranking in school history.
* Ethan Anderson and Cook named to All-WIAC First Team with Seth Anderson being named honorable mention and Suchomel to the all-defensive team. Cook was selected the WIAC Player of the Year and named to the D3hoops.com All-America Third Team. Cook was a D3hoops.com All-Region First Team selection.
OTHER COACHING EXPERIENCE:
* Head coach for the 16U and 17U UA Rise teams as part of Wisconsin Playmakers from 2020-23.
* Team played on the Under Armour Shoe Circuit and led to a top-seven national finish out of 48 Under Armour squads.
* Assisted five players from the 2024 class earn scholarships at the NCAA Division I and II levels.
* Player development trainer since 2020 with Built 2 Win Training in La Crosse.
* Skills training coach from March-August 2021 with the La Crosse Central High School Basketball Association.
* Assistant boys' basketball coach at West Salem (Wis.) High School from 2017-20.
* Coach at Viterbo University (Wis.) Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook Exposure Camp in 2018 and 2019.
EDUCATION AND PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree in communication studies from UWL in 2021 with a minor in coaching concentration and general studies.
* Attended Western Technical College (Wis.) prior to transferring to UWL, playing basketball for two seasons for the Cavaliers.
