Josh Passe begins his 18th year as an assistant coach at UW-La Crosse in 2026-27.
UWL has finished in the top-eight in nine different years at the national championships in Passe's tenure, placing second in 2010 and 2026, third in 2011 and 2024, fourth in 2012 and 2013 and fifth in 2023 and 2025. The Eagles were sixth in 2016, seventh in 2018 and eighth in 2015. Â
A total of 60 wrestlers have earned NCAA III All-America honors in the last 17Â seasons (the 2020 and 2021 national championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 public health threat).
The Eagles have won 11 (2010-11, 2017-25) Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships in the last 17 years, including nine of the last 10 years. UWL has won 67 individual league titles in Passe's time as an assistant coach. UWL has earned the WIAC Coaching Staff of the Year Award from 2018-25.
A four-year letter winner for the Eagles, Passe compiled a career record of 28-35 while wrestling at 184 and 197-pounds. He went 8-10 at 197-pounds as a senior in 2006-07.
