Amy Huchthausen (’99)
Sport: Softball (1996-99)
Why did you choose UWL?
Enjoyed the campus and community, offered a major I was interested in and a chance to play softball.
Who influenced you the most during your time at UWL?
Former UW-La Crosse Athletic Director Bridget Belgiovine.
How did your undergraduate experience at UWL impact what you are doing in your career now?
Balancing the time demands of being a student-athlete while also working a part-time job in the last couple of years was helpful in prioritizing, staying focused and managing my time.
What is your most fond memory while being at UWL as a student?
Time with friends in the dorms and time with teammates on road trips. Too many to count - Eagle's Nest, rollerblading through campus, spending too much time in Mitchell Hall, 6 a.m. softball practices.
What are you most proud of about your undergrad years now that you have graduated?
Just proud that I had a really good college experience that helped me grow and develop as an individual.
What advice would you give current UWL student-athletes?
Soak it up. Enjoy the time and savor every moment.
