Is there a limit to how much (or little) I can give?
You may donate in any amount – there is no minimum or maximum. Please note that certain giving levels entitle you to various premiums. Please see the Benefits Chart for more information.
Can I restrict my gift to a specific sport or program?
Yes, all three giving methods (online, text, traditional mail) allow you to designate your gifts to specific sports or programs that are particularly meaningful to you.
Can I direct a gift to multiple purposes?
Yes, you can designate your gift to any number of sports/programs. If you use a credit card, your card will be charged the total amount of your combined gifts.
What happens to my gift if I leave it unrestricted?
Unrestricted donations are needed to provide critical support for the entire intercollegiate athletics program. These gifts enable the Athletic Department to allocate funds in support of its most immediate needs and to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. These funds provide essential support for facilities, equipment, etc.
Is my gift tax deductible?
All gifts to the L-Club and the UW-L Foundation are tax deductible. Consult with your tax advisor to confirm the full extent of the allowable deduction. The UW-L Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
What are the goals of the campaign?
The purpose of the L-Club’s annual campaign is to generate resources to improve the experience for UW-L’s nearly 600 student-athletes competing in 19 varsity sports. We believe that collegiate athletic competition changes our student-athletes’ lives by preparing them to be productive, contributing members of society. To continue providing such an impactful opportunity, we need private financial support from generous donors like you. We want you to invest yourself in our program and take great pride in the athletic, academic, and personal accomplishments of our remarkable student-athletes.
How long is the campaign?
The campaign itself is scheduled to conclude at the end of April, but we receive gifts from friends of our program throughout the year. All giving avenues – online, text, and traditional mail – are open and available for processing gifts without interruption.
