Glendale, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over MSOE (Wis.) Sunday afternoon at Nicolet High School in the Eagles' season-opening dual. The Raiders fall to 1-3.
UWL swept the three doubles matches, including
Tasha Bailey/
Shelby Roth at No. 1 (6-2) over Ana Clara Kamiyama/Lana Brooks.
Hannah Cady/
Maia Samuelson won at No. 2 (6-0) doubles over Delaney Premeau/Simona Sulminas and
Caitlyn Stadter/
Lily Jorgenson at No. 3 (6-0) over Emily Gutknecht/Stephania Gonzalez.
The Eagles swept the six singles matches in straight sets. Bailey defeated Kamiyama at No. 1 (7-5, 6-1) while Roth earned the victory over Gonzalez at No. 2 (6-0, 6-1).
Lauren Lindow earned the victory at No. 3 singles (6-0, 6-0) over Premeau.
Stadter won at No. 4 singles (6-2, 6-1) over Brooks while Jorgenson won at No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-0) over Sulminas and
Izabelle Brinkman earned the win at No. 6 singles (6-0, 6-0) over Gutknecht.
UWL returns to action Friday, September 12 hosting UW-Whitewater in its home opener at Green Island Tennis Park at 3 p.m.
