Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team placed third at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Automatic Qualifying Tournament Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Outdoor Tennis Complex. The Eagles fell, 5-0, to UW-Whitewater in the semifinals before coming back to earn a 5-0 victory over UW-Stevens Point in the third-place match. 

Both matches were played to decision. UWL finishes the season at 15-5 overall. 

UW-Whitewater won the qualifying tournament to earn the league's bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships.
