River Falls, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team opened Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) competition with a 9-0 victory over UW-River Falls Saturday afternoon at Ramer Field Tennis Courts. The Eagles improve to 2-0 overall while the Falcons fall to 0-1. UW-River Falls was also playing its WIAC opener.
UWL swept the three doubles matches to start the dual.

In singles play, Hierl defeated Kailey Courteau at No. 1 (6-0, 6-0) while
Susi Hu beat Alexis Budzinski at No. 2 (6-2, 6-1). Then at No. 3 singles, Bulbulian defeated Chloe Struss (6-2, 6-2) and Kearney beat Kaytlyn Syverson at No. 4 (6-1, 6-2).
Heinert bested Duddeck at No. 5 (6-1, 6-1) and Townsend defeated Grace Aertz at No. 6 (6-1, 6-0).
UWL returns to action Saturday, September 17 at UW-Whitewater noon.
