La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team opened the 2022-23 season with an 8-1 win over Lawrence University (Wis.) Thursday afternoon at Green Island Tennis Park. UWL is now 1-0 while Lawrence (Wis.) falls to 0-1. 
   
The win marks the 22nd consecutive year the Eagles have started the fall season with a dual victory under head coach Bill Hehli. It's also the seventh consecutive season UWL has defeated Lawrence in the first dual match of the fall season.

The Eagles won five of the six singles matches and all three of the doubles matches.
