Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team improve to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) with a 8-1 victory at UW-Oshkosh Wednesday afternoon at Kolf Sports Center Outdoor Courts. UW-Oshkosh drops to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the WIAC. 

The Eagles swept the three doubles matches. Kellie Hierl/Katie Kearney defeated Alyssa Pattee/Alexandra Schmoldt at No. 1 doubles (8-3) while Ani Bulbulian/Susi Hu beat Courtney Carpenter/Jenna Nolde at No. 2 (8-5). UWL's Izzy Schmiesing/Kate Townsend defeated Cordelia Damkot/Louisa Damkot at No. 3 doubles (8-2). 

UWL won five of the six singles matches on Wednesday. Hierl defeated Pattee at No. 1 (6-0, 6-0) with Hu beating Schmoldt at No. 2 (6-0, 6-1). Kearney earned the victory at No. 3 singles (6-0, 6-2) over Louisa Damkot. 

Townsend defeated Nolde at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-0) and Emma Heinert beat Hannah Stitt at No. 6 (6-1, 6-1). UW-Oshkosh's lone win came at No. 4 singles as Cordelia Damkot defeated Bulbulian (6-3, 6-4). 

UWL returns to action Tuesday, October 11 hosting UW-Stevens Point at 3 p.m. at Green Island Tennis Park.
