Tennis Team Opens Season with Pair of Wins

Bridget Bellissimo earned a pair of wins at No. 1 singles Friday afternoon.

Green Bay, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team opened its 2016 season with a pair of victories Friday afternoon at the Green Bay Tennis Center. The Eagles earned a 8-1 victory over St. Norbert College (Wis.) a 9-0 win over Lawrence University (Wis.).

"I was very happy with the way we performed with this being the first competition of the year," said UWL head coach Bill Hehli. "We beat a good team with a lot of experience in St. Norbert (Wis.) and then opened up our match with Lawrence (Wis.) with some very dominate doubles play to set the tone for the match. Bridget Bellissimo and Hayley Clope both played very well today."
