Burchfield earned a pair of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III All-America honors at the national championships in Greensboro, North Carolina. He placed 16th in the 50-yard freestyle to earn individual All-America accolades on March 20 and then finished 16th in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Hans Hover, Alec Carlson and Jack Rohlinger to earn All-America honors on March 21.
