Higgins helped lead UWL to a second-place finish at the Joe Piane University of Notre Dame (Ind.) Invitational on October 3. She finished 12th overall with a time of 17:45.2 on the 5,000-meter course. A total of 22 teams and 171 runners competed in the race.
