Beirne had a pair of field goals, including a game-winning 20-yard field goal on the final play in UWL's 34-31 win at 21st-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University on September 8. He also connected on a 32-yard field goal on the final play of the second quarter to give the Eagles a 24-10 lead. Beirne was four-of-four in extra-point attempts and also completed a 20-yard pass for a first down on fourth-and-19 at UWL's 18-yard line in the second quarter.
