Ernst is 82-20 in his three-year career at UWL, including finishing 29-2 in 2018-19.  He earned NCAA Division III All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in 2019 after earning his first career All-America accolade with a sixth-place finish in 2018.  Ernst, who missed the 2019-20 season due to an injury, has won two (2018, 2019) WIAC titles and placed second once (2017). He led UWL in overall (29) and wins by fall (15) in 2018-19.  Ernst is a three-time member of the NWCA Academic All-America Team.
