32nd Annual Gershon/McLellan Invitational Results
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team captured the 32nd Annual Gershon/McLellan Invitational Friday night in Mitchell Hall. It is the Eagles' 13th team title in the Gershon/McLellan Invite, including fourth straight.
UW-L finished with a team score of 184.525 Friday night while Winona State University (Minn.) was second at 182.625. UW-Oshkosh placed third (179.500) and Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) was fourth (173.450).
The Eagles' 184.525 is a single-season high this year. UW-L also set single-season highs on the balance beam (46.875) and floor exercise (47.225).
UW-L's
Sheree Romesburg captured the all-around title (37.100) Friday night while teammate
Christa Booman placed second (36.875). Romesburg also won the vault (9.400) and placed second on the floor exercise (9.625) and third on the balance beam (9.475).
Booman won the uneven parallel bars (9.550) and balance beam (9.625) while finishing ninth on the vault (9.050).
Katie Palluck captured the floor exercise (9.675) for the Eagles.
Ali Berry,
Natalie Hall and
Tegan Oare each recorded a pair of top-seven finishes Friday. Berry was fourth on the vault (9.250) and seventh on the floor exercise (9.375) while Hall finished third on the floor exercise (9.600) and fifth on the vault (9.225). Oare was second on the vault (9.375) and balance beam (9.550).
UW-L's
Taylor Cochran was ninth (8.975) and
Jen Andersen 10th (8.950) on the uneven parallel bars and
Jessica Herrmann placed ninth (9.275) on the balance beam.
UW-L returns to action Friday, February 8 hosting UW-Stout at 6:30 p.m.
