UW-Stevens Point 165, UW-La Crosse 78
Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team fell 165-78 at UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon. The Eagles drop to 2-4 on the season. UW-L swept the diving competition Saturday as
Andrew Janny captured the three-meter (291.75 points) and
Justin Bublitz won the one-meter (287.60). Janny was also second in one-meter (260.45) and Bublitz finished second in the three-meter (276.65).
The Eagles'
Patrick Schulze was third in the one-meter (250.90 points) and three-meter (245.90) diving.
UW-L's
Justin Dembski recorded a pair of top-three finishes Saturday, placing second in the 500 freestyle (4:55.21) and third in the 1,000 freestyle (10:11.22).
Recording second-place finishes were
Garrett Runing in the 200 freestyle (1:47.94);
Daniel Streater in the 200 butterfly (2:04.38) and
Stephen Hanko in the 200 backstroke (1:58.19).
Third-place finishes included
Spencer Loch in the 200 I.M. (2:04.30) and
Chris Kaminski in the 200 butterfly (2:04.74).
UW-L's 400 medley relay of
Nick Bietz, Loch, Streater and
Joel Knuesel placed third (3:41.21) while the 400 freestyle relay of Knuesel, Streater,
Erich Schnell and Loch also finished third (3:16.07).
UW-L returns to action Saturday, February 4 hosting UW-Whitewater at noon.
