La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team fell 7-1 and 12-3 to UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon at North Campus Field on Senior Day. The Eagles drop to 16-22 overall and 8-14 in the WIAC while the Titans improve to 17-19 overall and 10-12 in the conference.

In the opener, Luke Westphal (4-4) pitched a complete-game victory for UW-Oshkosh. He went 9.0 innings, allowing four hits, one run and three walks while striking out five. The Titans got on the board in the top of the first as Nolan Fadness scored on a passed ball. UW-Oshkosh added two runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead.

Blake Berger scored on a Mickey Fadness double and Lucas Wirth knocked in Fadness with a single in the fourth. Berger had a sacrifice fly in the fifth while Kyle Kannenberg had an RBI infield single.

UW-L scored its run in the bottom of the seventh on Adam Cordova's two-out double to score Travis Martin, but UW-Oshkosh tallied two runs in the top of the ninth to finish the scoring. Derek Hiroskey hit an RBI double and Berger added an RBI single.

Berger was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI while Nolan Fadness finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Mitch Running (2-2) suffered the loss for UW-L, pitching 8.0 innings, allowing eight hits, five runs (four earned) and three walks with five strikeouts. Four different players had a hit for UW-L.

In the nightcap, Troy Mrkvicka (2-2) pitched a complete-game for the Titans to earn the win. He went 9.0 innings, allowing eight hits, three runs (one earned) and two walks while striking out one.

UW-L took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third as Corey Geary hit an RBI double and Lance Poppy was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded. UW-Oshkosh scored five times in the top of the fourth with Berger hitting a two-run home run and Wirth a two-run triple. Wirth also scored on his triple after a UW-L fielding error.

The Titans added two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth, one in the seventh and three in the eighth. Nolan Fadness hit a solo home run  in the sixth.

UW-L scored its third run in the sixth on Matt Johnson's single to knock in Brett Jacobson who had doubled.

Brandon Walczak (2-5) took the loss, going 5.2 innings, allowing eight hits, eight runs (six earned) and four walks with two strikeouts. Matt Trocke was 2-for-4 at the plate.

UW-L and UW-Oshkosh will finish the regular-season with a doubleheader Sunday at noon at North Campus Field.
