Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse softball game with Aurora University (Ill.) scheduled for Thursday, May 13 in the NCAA Division III Regional has been postponed due to rain. The Eagles and Spartans will play Friday, May 14 at 9 a.m. The other three regional games scheduled for May 13 have been pushed back to later in the day.

Luther College (Iowa) will now play St. Norbert College (Wis.) at 1 p.m. Thursday while Carthage College (Wis.) faces Alma College (Mich.) at 3 p.m. and the University of Redlands (Calif.) plays Augustana College (Ill.) at 5 p.m.

The NCAA III Regional follows a double-elimination format. Eight first round winners advance to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship scheduled for May 21-25 at UW-Eau Claire. The tournament will be played at Gelein Field at Carson Park.

UW-L earned an automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament with its 2-0 victory over UW-Whitewater May 9 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament championship game.

The Eagles are making their second consecutive appearance in the national tournament after also capturing the WIAC Tournament in 2009. UW-L went 0-2 in the national tournament last season in Indianola, Iowa.

Last year was UW-L's first appearance in the national tournament since 1986 when it went 2-2 at the UW-Whitewater Midwest Regional.
