Wartburg College Select Results
Waverly, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team finished second at the Wartburg College Select Saturday night in Hoover Fieldhouse. The Eagles placed second with 210 team points while Wartburg was first with 247. The University of St. Thomas (Minn.) finished third with 161 points and UW-Platteville was fourth with 77.
Katelynn Williams captured the 5,000-meter run (17:53.38) Saturday and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships. Teammate
Alison Kolinski was second in the 5,000 (17:53.61) and also provisionally qualified. The Eagles' 4x400-meter relay finished third (3:58.43) and met provisional qualifying status for the national championships.
UW-L's 4x200-meter relay of
Laurel Beck,
Lauren Seidl,
Clare Kaufman and
Kelsey Katarow placed first (1:45.00).
Other top finishers on the track for the Eagles included
Kailey Charlton placing second (7.30) and
Ashton May fourth (7.49) in the 55-meter dash. May was also second in the triple jump (35-10).
Ellen Kumm was third (11:10.50),
Johanna Sumnicht fourth (11:15.83) and
Emily Keepman fifth (11:27.60) in the 3,000-meter run.
Megan Johnson was third (18:16.41) and
Rachel Boldt fourth (18:56.10) in the 5,000-meter run.
The Eagles'
Megan Thiel placed fifth in the 200-meter dash (27.46),
Megan Knutson fifth in the 800-meter run (2:22.06) and
Leeanne Nowicki fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.03).
Sara Mitchell,
Kaitlyn Joyce and
Christy Bohl each captured individual crowns in the field events Saturday. Mitchell won the high jump (5-3 1/4), Joyce the pole vault (10-11 3/4) and Bohl the shot put (42-5 1/2). Bohl provisionally qualified for the NCAA III Championships. Bohl was also second in the weight throw (50-2 1/2).
UW-L's
Tacara Lovings was fourth (45-6 1/2) and
Jessica Ramel fifth (44-3 1/4) in the weight throw. Ramel also placed third in the shot put (38-6 1/4).
Maggie May finished fifth (32-7 1/2) in the triple jump while
Andrea Fresen tied for second on the pole vault (9-6 1/4).
Jenna Starck was fourth (5-1 1/4) and
Kayla Johnson fifth (4-11 1/2) in the high jump.
