UW-L to Host Take a Kid to the Game

La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse has set a date for its annual NCAA® Women's Basketball Take A Kid to the Game® day for Saturday, Jan. 23, where they will host the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds. Start time is 3:05 p.m. in UW-L's Mitchell Hall.

The game is part of UW-L/UW-Eau Claire doubleheader as the Eagles' men's basketball team will host the Blugolds at 5:05 p.m.

Area youth (18 and under) are invited to attend this special event and receive a free ticket with the
purchase of a full-priced adult ticket.

UW-La Crosse is hosting one of more than 700 games that will be played across the nation as part of the Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG) program in its 15th season.  The project is a grass roots initiative that attracts the nation's youth and encourages adults to take kids to area college basketball games.

“We are thrilled to invite area youth to our campus and have them help as we cheer on the Eagles to victory. It is our hope that adults in the community will bring their children out to experience a collegiate athletic event at UW-La Crosse,” said women's basketball head coach Lois Heeren.

Tickets for the doubleheader can be purchased at the Mitchell Hall ticket office prior to the start of the game.  For more information, contact the UW-La Crosse Athletics Office at (608) 785-8616 or check out the UW-La Crosse Athletics website at http://www.uwlathletics.com/.

NCAA Basketball® is a national sponsor of the Take A Kid to the Game program.

TAKG is a grassroots marketing campaign created by IMG College to encourage alumni and fans to take their kids out to stadiums and arenas to experience intercollegiate athletics.
