Sue Ketter-Schmit
Athlete: 1984-1987


    Volleyball was Sue Ketter-Schmit's sport during college in the mid-'80s. She helped La Crosse earn three conference championships and two NCAA regional titles. Ketter-Schmit was an Asics All-American in 1986, and was an NCAA III second team All-American in 1987. She holds five career records: fourth in assists (1,599); fifth in kills (927); seventh in block assists (336); eighth in total blocks (273); and 10th in block solos (79). She was a conference scholar-athlete in 1987 and holds all-time, all-conference honors. Academically, she made the dean's list seven times and was listed in Who's Who Among Studetns in American Colleges and Universities. Ketter-Schmit, '88, who majored in physical education, taught and coached at Nicolet high school, West Allis-West Milwaukee schools, UW-Milwaukee, Milwaukee Area Technical College and Divine Savior Holy Angels High School.
