Ryan Allen was a four-year letter winner for the wrestling team from 2002-06, winning three National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III championships at 285-pounds in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The all-time leader in victories at UWL with a record of 161-14, Allen also earned NCAA III All-America honors with a second-place finish at 285-pounds in 2003.
Allen was named the 2004-05 NCAA Division III Most Outstanding Wrestler, the first individual in school history to earn the award.
Named to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-Time Team in 2012, Allen captured four league crowns at 285-pounds from 2003-06. He is one of four wrestlers in conference history to win four titles at 285-pounds, joining Tim Carmin of UW-Whitewater (1979-82), Perry Miller of UW-Stevens Point (1995-98) and Laurent (2007-10). Allen was named the WIAC Wrestler of the Year in 2003-04 and 2004-05.
Allen earned a bachelor's degree in physical education in 2008. He lives in Cobb, Wisconsin, while working as a physical education instructor, head wrestling coach and head junior varsity football coach in the Iowa Grant School District.
