Taylor lettered in basketball and cross country. He taught physical education at UW-L from 1965- 1991. He coached freshman basketball from 1965-1986 and was assistant track coach from 1975-1978. Taylor served on the La Crosse State College Foundation from 1971 to 1985, as president and later on the UW-L Foundation Board of Directors.
