Athlete: 1965-70
She started gymnastic training at age 3. Nancy Krattiger-Ziltener, the daughter of two gymnasts and niece of an Olympian gymnast, carried her early interest in the sport through college and into her career. In 1966, the Belleville, Wis., native helped form the first women's gymnastics conference meet at La Crosse, an event UW-L women won through 1970.
She also assisted in several gymnastics clinics and shows and was named Wisconsin State University All-Around Champion for four years. Krattiger-Ziltener took those skills to Monroe, Wis., High School, Northern Illinois, UW-Milwaukee and Ohio state before returning to Wisconsin at Janesville Craig High School in 1979.
At Ohio state, she took an unrecognized gymnastics team to a national ranking of 18 and for two years, coached the top collegiate all-around in the country. At Craig, she coached teams to conference titles and numerous regional and sectional finishes.
