Athlete: 1969-1973
Marilyn Skrivseth is a 1973 graduate of UW-La Crosse, where she competed in tennis, badminton and volleyball. As a junior she was number 1 in double state champion in tennis., number 1 singles and doubles state champion in badminton and played on the volleyball team that went to the Midwest Championships. As a senior, Skrivseth was singles champion in badminton.
She coached tennis for five years and track for two at West Bend East High School. Her tennis team won the Little Ten Conference title her last two years and her track team won the indoor and outdoor conference titles her last two years. Skrivseth went to UW-Eau Claire in 1979 where she was head track coach and head tennis coach.
She was named Coach-of-the-Year in track in 1980-1981 and in tennis in 1980-81 and again in 1983-84. Her tennis team has compiled a 221-72-1 record (a .753 winning percentage) and has won the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title twice.
